A Perfect Evening Snack

Corn Fry is a simple, flavour-packed snack that’s crunchy on the outside and juicy inside. It’s easy to make, customizable, and works beautifully as a tea-time or evening snack.


πŸ“ Ingredients

  • Sweet corn – 4–6 cobs

  • Salt – a pinch (for boiling/steaming)

  • Refined sunflower oil – for frying

  • Kashmiri chilli powder – 1 tsp

  • spicy chilli powder - Home made – 1 tsp

  • Turmeric powder – Β½ tsp

  • Chaat masala – 1 tsp

  • Amchur powder – 1 tsp (optional)

  • Lemon juice – Β½ lemon (if chaat masala is unavailable)

  • Parmesan cheese – as needed (optional)

  • Ghee – 1 tsp (optional, for flavour)

  • Fresh coriander leaves – finely chopped

  • Thick curd (hung curd) – for dip


πŸ”₯ Step 1: Steam or Boil the Corn

Steam the corn cobs well using an idli steamer.
Alternatively, boil them in water with a pinch of salt until fully cooked and tender.


πŸ”ͺ Step 2: Cut the Corn

Once cooled slightly, cut each corn cob vertically into 4–8 strips.
Do not separate the kernels β€” keep each strip intact.


🍳 Step 3: Fry the Corn

Heat refined sunflower oil until it is fully hot.
Carefully add the corn strips and deep-fry for about 10 minutes until lightly crisp.

πŸ‘‰ Note: Corn will not become extremely crunchy due to moisture.

Healthy option: Air fry until golden and lightly crisp.

In a bowl, add:

  • Kashmiri chilli powder

  • Kanja milagai thool

  • Turmeric powder

  • Chaat masala

  • Amchur powder

Mix everything well.
If you don’t have chaat masala, add Β½ lemon juice instead.

Remove the fried corn and place it in a mixing bowl.
Sprinkle the prepared seasoning evenly and toss well.

Add:

  • Parmesan cheese (or any cheese of your choice)
